CPI Romania is bringing international fashion retailers Primark, Peek&Cloppenburg and Reserved to Sun Plaza in Bucharest, as part of a major refurbishment of the shopping centre. The move is backed by a €100 million club-deal financing secured by CPI Property Group from OTP Bank and ING Bank Romania.

"Securing retailers such as Auchan, Primark, Peek & Cloppenburg and Reserved marks a defining moment in the evolution of the centre," said Geanina Ungureanu, Head of Retail at CPI Romania. "We are remodelling a large area to create a new fashion hub, featuring concepts and services tailored to a modern lifestyle."

Primark will occupy approximately 3,000 sqm, while Peek&Cloppenburg is opening a 3,200 sqm store, expanding its existing relationship with CPI Romania following locations at VIVO! Constanța and VIVO! Cluj-Napoca. Reserved will take approximately 2,200 sqm across two levels.

An Auchan hypermarket of approximately 7,000 sqm is also planned to open by the end of the year, to be complemented by new food and service concepts. Sun Plaza currently hosts 170 stores, and the ongoing works also encompass modernisation of spaces and investment in sustainability.

CPI Romania says the redevelopment is intended to consolidate Sun Plaza's role as a retail and leisure destination in the south of Bucharest. Parent company CPI Property Group holds a property portfolio valued at more than €18 billion across Central and Eastern Europe.
