The inauguration of the extension of Colosseum Mall in northern Bucharest was pushed back by spring 2022 due to the health crisis.
The extension works included the upgrade of the food court area with terraces and the construction of 1,000 new parking places. The developer will also add a photovoltaic system in a bid to reduce energy costs and cut the project’s carbon footprint.
Mihai Dinu, General Manager of Colosseum Mall, said that the decision to postpone the opening was appreciated by all retail partners.
The extension phase can accommodate up to 25,000 sqm of new leasable space so that the overall area of Colosseum Mall can reach 75,000 sqm.
Nova Imobiliare, the developer of Colosseum Mall, owns a land plot of 60 hectares where it plans to a residential units and offices near the shopping centre.
