Cavatina Group has signed a preliminary agreement to purchase a plot on ul. Dworkowa in Bielsko-Biała, where it plans to build a mixed-use development incorporating a planetarium with a multifunctional hall for approximately 200 people. The new building will sit opposite the existing Cavatina Hall concert venue, forming a cohesive complex on both sides of the street alongside Cavatina Studio, premium office buildings and the headquarters of the Fiducia Foundation.
The planetarium is designed to function as an immersive dome theatre in which the cupola serves as an all-encompassing projection screen. Beyond astronomy programming, the space will host conferences, film screenings and concerts combining live music with projection. The venue will be open to schools, families and adult visitors, as well as tourists. The multifunctional hall will be arranged in an auditorium layout compatible with events already organised at Cavatina Hall.
The wider mixed-use building will include office and service space alongside residential apartments. A two-storey podium will house the multifunctional hall and retail units, above which two residential wings arranged in a V-shape will rise on either side of a central entrance courtyard. The development is located in Bielsko-Biała city centre, within walking distance of the main squares, the town hall, public transport stops and the railway station.
"We see our role as broader than building offices or homes. Cavatina Hall showed that there is room in Bielsko-Biała for ambitious projects. The new investment, together with the planetarium, will be a natural continuation of that path. We want our activities to bring real benefits to local communities," said Rafał Malarz, vice-president of Cavatina Group. "The architecture of the complex draws inspiration from the city's surroundings. The rounded forms of the planetarium and Cavatina Hall, and the dome floating above the square, introduce softness and fluidity characteristic of the Beskid landscape," added Piotr Jasiński, chief architect of Cavatina Group.
Cavatina Hall, which opened in 2022, hosted 260 cultural events in 2025 and is home to the Cavatina Philharmonic Orchestra, described as the first private professional symphony orchestra in Poland. The Cavatina Guitar Festival is also based there, with tickets for its fourth edition in May 2027 already on sale. The planned planetarium will extend the complex's offer into science education and popular science programming. "Cavatina Hall opened doors to music for residents; the planetarium will open them to science and a wide range of other events. We believe access to culture and knowledge should not depend on where you live," said Malarz.
