The industrial park near the East Slovak village of Veľká Ida is getting another factory. A Belgian developer is building it, DennikN.sk reports.

Several investors from the field of mechanical engineering and automobile production came to the industrial park near Veľká Ida near Košice even before the region acquired the new car factory of Swedish Volvo. Now another factory from the same industries is being built near the village. It will not be a factory for final parts, but more valuable production of production technologies.

The Belgian developer ILD, which specializes in industrial and logistics projects, wants to build a factory in the park for various equipment for assembly lines. After the full ramp-up of production, 125 people are expected to work in the plant.

The acquisition of the factory results from a project submitted to the domestic licensing authorities by the Belgians through their Slovak subsidiary Ilcon. They have not yet specified the amount of the investment or who will be the final tenant of the plant. The factory will be spread over a total area of half a hectare. Construction is to start this year and its completion is expected next year.

This will not be the first project for ILD in the park near Veľká Ida, which has an area of almost 30 hectares. Already in 2015, they built a large production base there for the Swiss company Oerlikon Balzers.
