Barceló Hotel Group has opened Barceló Warsaw Powiśle, a 4-star hotel with 151 rooms and suites at the Elektrownia Powiśle complex in Warsaw.


"The newly opened hotel in Warsaw, is confirmation that Barceló Hotel Group is committed to further expansion in the Eastern European region, where the first hotel opened in Prague in 1993. The chain currently operates seven hotels in: Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic, generating a positive impact on the economic, cultural and social development of the cities. In addition, the chain plans to open a newly built hotel in the centre of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, this summer", said SVP City Hotels Europe at Barceló Hotel Group José Ramón Alvarez-Cervela.

Barceló Hotel Group - which is part of the Barceló Group - is the second largest hotel chain in Spain and is among the 30 largest in the world in terms of number of rooms. The group has more than 280 4- and 5-star city and resort hotels, totalling more than 62,000 rooms in 25 countries and sold under the brands: Royal Hideaway Luxury Hotels & Resorts, Barceló Hotels & Resorts, Occidental Hotels & Resorts and Allegro Hotels. Barceló Hotel Group is also part of the Crestline Hotels & Resorts group, an independent hotel company with 130 properties.

New leases

  • Vastint Romania secured its first tenant for Bucharest-based Timpuri Noi Square Phase 2, signing SCOR for 3,250 sqm. The transaction, brokered by CBRE, facilitates SCOR’s expansion within Vastint’s local portfolio. The company has previously leased 2,320 sqm in Business Garden Bucharest.
  • EVO Properties has named Alexandru Marin as the new Property Manager for the London and Oslo office buildings in Bucharest. He brings over 15 years of property management experience.
  • IF&B Mille Sapori, the importer and distributor of Italian food products in Poland, has leased 4,118 sqm in the MLP Pruszków II complex. The lease deal was brokered by Coldwell Banker Commercial.

New appointments

  • Katarzyna Myjak has joined Axi Immo as Senior Business Advisory Manager, tasked with strengthening the company’s Industrial & Logistics business line.
  • Czech investment group SCF has expanded its team by appointing Jan Simandl as Senior Leasing Team Leader. In this role, Simandl will oversee leasing activities across the company’s commercial property portfolio. He previously worked for CPI Property Group and CBRE.
  • Michał Kochanowski-Laren has joined Avison Young Poland’s Technical Advisory and Project Management team as Project Manager. In his new role, he is responsible for delivering a variety of consultancy projects across all segments of the commercial real estate market in Poland. Kochanowski-Laren is an electrical engineer and a graduate of the Warsaw University of Technology.

Bucharest office fit-out, among the most affordable in CEE

The average total office fit-out costs in Bucharest increased slightly in 2025 to around €1,000 per sqm, according to data from Cushman & Wakefield Echinox. However, Bucharest remains one of the most affordable markets in CEE, with fit-out costs 18% and 15% lower than in Warsaw and Prague, respectively.
