Roberto is a founding partner of SMA. He boasts over 30 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical and Healthcare sector in Eastern Europe, where he set up and ran a group of companies for a major pharmaceutical multinational, prior to leading a global business from the company Headquarters in the UK. Roberto is also the Ambassador of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta to Romania. Having previously served as president of the American Chamber of Commerce for three consecutive terms, he is currently a member of the AMCHAM board and a co-chair of its Healthcare Committee. He is also chairing the Electronic Registries Working Group within the Coalition for Romania's Development (CDR). Roberto has served as a member of the board of the Foreign Investors Council (FIC) in 2003-2004 and of the board of Confindustria Romania (Italian Industry Ownership Association) 2007-2009. He is also in his second term as President of the Romanian–Italian Chamber of Commerce. A founding member and Vice-President of the ASPEN Institute Romania, he was Vice President of the Pharmaceutical Industry Association between 2004 and 2006. Roberto has also created a CSR foundation, which has received several awards in the fields of Healthcare, Education and anti-discrimination policies.
