Joanna James has overall responsibility for Advent's investment activities in Central and Eastern Europe. She has over 25 years of private equity experience, with a strong focus on buyouts and growth equity investments. Prior to joining Advent, Joanna worked for Kleinwort Benson Development Capital, where she was responsible for investments in the U.K. and also developed the firm's private equity activity in Spain. She began her career with 3i, the U.K.'s largest venture capital firm. Joanna has led Advent's investments in The Bulgarian Telecommunications Company (BTC), Terapia, Synergon, Elender, Mobifon and Cesky Mobil. She has BA from Durham University. Joanna has represented Advent on the boards of Central European companies in the food and information technology services sectors.
