MLP Group posts over €36.8 million in net profit for 2020

MLP Group has released consolidated financial results for 2020, showing a net profit of €36.8 million (PLN 170 million), up 32% year on year. Equity (net assets) rose 29% in 2020, to PLN 1.21 billion, with gross investment property having expanded by the same percentage, to PLN 2.33 billion.

Hungarian lender OTP Bank has granted a RON 8.9 million lei (€1.8 million) loan to Romanian logistics operator Rara Invest. The company is using the funds for the expansion of its Sura Mica industrial park in Sibiu.

Investment volume to reach the €1 billion mark in Romania

After spectacular 2016 economic results and a record-breaking FDI level of €4.1 billion, Romania’s prospects for 2017 look very promising. Bucharest, a specialized IT hub in the CEE region, has recently welcomed several new global brands such as Fitbit and the Coface Group. This influx has boosted the city’s office sector and is making Romania's capital city an attractive destination for investment funds. The yield spread between Western and even other CEE markets is still significant, with prime office yields in Bucharest at around 7.25%.

New leases

  • International sportswear brand Nike has chosen the Bonarka Shopping Centre in Kraków for the first location of its shop in the Nike Rise model. The retail space of the two-storey store is 1,000 sqm.
  • Poland's largest Monnari store has opened in the Serenada Centre in Krakow. The shop has an area of 605 sqm. Monnari is a Polish clothing brand. It has more than 200 stationary stores throughout Poland, as well as an online shop.
  • A McDonald's restaurant is joining the tenants of Nowa Sukcesja retail centre in Łódź. The 140 sqm restaurant will be located in the catering area, on the first floor.

New appointments

  • GTC Group appoints two people to head up its shopping centres in Poland Anna Borecka will take over as director of Galeria Jurajska in Kraków. Meanwhile, Marek Ciszewski will take the helm at Galeria Północna in Warsaw.
  • Anna Bartoszewicz-Wnuk joins the Velis Real Estate Tech team as Head of Central & Eastern Europe and will be responsible for the company's development in the CEE markets.
  • DVM group, an integrated architectural and construction services provider is restructuring its design department. Ákos Csécsei has been appointed to head the architectural design department and Tímea Fekete-Tóth to lead the interior design department. The managers have grown with the company, with multiple projects to their name.
