Two large railway stations in Prague are about to be modernised. After Masarycka station, Czech national railway infrastructure manager (SŽ – Správa železnic) is now looking for a construction contractor for the Prague-Smíchov station as well. The result will be wholly modernised tracks and platforms, extended underpasses under the whole station, and a new footbridge leading over the station and allowing barrier-free access to individual platforms. The construction implementation will take place between 2024 and 2027, the total cost amounts to CZK 5.2 billion (€215 million), says SŽ in a press release.

Správa železnic (Railway Administration) has announced a tender for a contractor who will reconstruct Prague's oldest train station - Masarykovo nádraží - for CZK 3.2 billion (€134.6 million). The idea of the authority is that the contractor should be able to connect the historical spaces with contemporary architecture and at the same time that the comfort for passengers and trains should be significantly increased, according to the report by the Správa železnic.

Bratislava's socialist hotel will be transformed into a multifunctional building with office space and apartments. Its redevelopment is now planned by the developer Imoba fin, writes the Slovak daily Hospodárské noviny. However, further details regarding the price and timetable have not yet been revealed.

Prague's famous brutalist-style Intercontinental Hotel is undergoing a complete renovation. After the reconstruction, the hotel will operate with sustainability principles and will become part of the Fairmont chain, the daily E15.cz reports without mentioning the price of the planned reconstruction.

Wood & Company is starting to improve its Aupark shopping centre in Bratislava. It plans to expand it with three more retail units and open the space to other global brands, startitup.sk reports.

Obermeyer Helika, a design and construction consultancy firm, has completed its work as general designer for the redevelopment of part of the former Světovar brewery in Pilsen. Zeitgeist Asset Management continues the complete reconstruction of the almost 100-year-old Dunaj Palace on Národní třída in the centre of Prague. The aim is to return the building to its original splendour and refinement from the 1920s. According to the developer, the spirit of the time in which the building was built will be preserved, but the building will be equipped with the most modern technologies of today. The developer announced that the building will be ready for occupation at the end of 2023.

In 2022, Ukraine will participate in Expo Real for the first time. The event will host a pavilion with an area of ​​132 sqm dedicated to Rebuilding Ukraine. The organizing partner of the stand is Invest in Projects, a global promoter of the Ukrainian real estate industry.

There are strange dances around the reconstruction of the baroque Savarin Palace in the centre of Prague. The CZK 10 billion project has been approved by the city's conservationists and city councillors and the first phase of the project is already underway, according to the builders. However, the Ministry of Culture has now rejected the project, saying it would threaten the city's conservation area, the Czech News Agency (ČTK) reports. Therefore, Culture Minister Martin Baxa has a request on his desk from the construction company Crestyl to review the decision of his officials, as company spokesman Ondřej Micka confirmed to Property Forum today.
