IHG to open Europe's first Holiday Inn & Suites in Budapest

IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced its first Holiday Inn & Suites property in Europe by signing Holiday Inn & Suites Budapest Centrale – part of its Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts brand. The new hotel will offer 170 rooms and is set to open in late 2026.

IHG Hotels & Resorts signs two hotels in Budapest

IHG Hotels & Resorts and Wing, a leading Hungarian property development and investment company have announced the signing of Hotel Indigo Budapest Andrassy and Holiday Inn Express Vagohid. Signed at the real estate trade fair Expo Real 2023, both properties mark brand debuts to Hungary, demonstrating investment and growth in the premium and essentials hotel segments.

IHG Hotels & Resorts expands in Romania

Hospitality company IHG Hotels & Resorts has marked the launch of its lifestyle brand in Romania through the singing of the Hotel Indigo Satu Mare. The new hotel will open in 2025 and will join IHG’s network in Romania which includes Intercontinental Athénée Palace Bucharest, Crowne Plaza Bucharest, and Holiday Inn Bucharest-Times.

New leases

  • HS Hydro & Spa has leased space at Logicor Bucharest III Pallady, in a deal brokered by iO Partners.
  • Piața 9 will open its first Bakery P9 location in Bucharest, on a 200 sqm area located on the ground floor of Victoria Center office building. The deal was brokered by Colliers.
  • A new KIKO MILANO store has opened at the Nový Smíchov shopping centre in Prague, as part of a lease transaction brokered by Cushman & Wakefield.

New appointments

  • Romanian office developer Genesis Property has appointed Cătălin Niculiță as Leasing Manager. With nearly 20 years of experience in the real estate industry, he has held leadership roles at real estate companies such as Atenor, collaborating with major office tenants in the banking, telecom, and IT sectors.
  • Krzysztof Wróblewski (MRICS) has been named Head of Portfolio Management CEE at Peakside Capital Advisors, responsible for overseeing investments and managing the real estate portfolio. He succeeds Christopher Smith in this role.
  • Garbe Industrial is reorganising its senior leadership team. CEO Christopher Garbe will now focus on strategic orientation and international activities. Jan Philipp Daun assumes leadership of the Development division alongside his existing Investment and Joint Venture responsibilities. Andrea Agrusow expands her remit to include Portfolio Management while retaining control of Commercial and Real Estate Management. Additionally, Michael Marcinek and Maik Zeranski will now jointly head the restructured Development unit as Management Board Members, succeeding Adrian Zellner.
