Hungary's residential property market saw 9,292 transactions in July 2026, according to the monthly estimate published by Duna House. The figure is 5.8% below the June level and 2.1% lower than the same month in 2025.
The July slowdown is consistent with a seasonal pattern, as buyers and sellers typically defer activity during the summer holiday period. Duna House notes that the transaction count remained close to the prior year's level, suggesting demand has paused rather than declined in any sustained way.
According to data from Credipass, the group's financial services brand, residential mortgage lending in Hungary is forecast to reach 274 billion forints in contracted volume for July 2026. That figure is 2.9% below the June total but represents a 93% increase compared with the July 2025 data published by the Magyar Nemzeti Bank.
