The global hotel chain has signed a franchise agreement with the owner of Magyar Király Hotel in the regional city of Székesfehérvár. Accor wants its new facility, officially Mercure Hotel Magyar Király, to become the number-one hotel in the city. The deal is effective from Q3 2023 and was advised by Moore Hungary.

The four-star hotel is owned by Hungarian investment firm Balance 99 Zrt. It offers 79 rooms, 4 suites and a conference room suitable for nearly 400 guests.

The building hosting the hotel was built in the early decades of the 19th century. During the long years, the hotel has gone through several reconstructions and renovations, lately in 2010.

Accor plans to bring more leisure and business tourists in the coming years. Dilek Sezer, Development Director of Accor South-East Europe said: "We try to preserve cultural heritage in each location and this is happening in Székesfehérvár too. This project provides a good opportunity to extend our portfolio across Hungary."
