The 48-room Leon Hotel & Lounge has opened near the Buda side of Chain Bridge, according to Market Építő, the project's contractor.
The Leon Hotel & Lounge was built on the site of the former Lánchíd 19 Design Hotel. Besides accommodation, the renewed complex includes a café and an Italian restaurant. The building is the sister hotel of the five-star Hotel Clark Budapest, managed by András Lakézi.
Hillside View rooms offer panoramas of Buda Castle and the hillside, while Riverside View rooms provide direct views of the Danube. The hotel's top floor features three Leon Top Floor Studio rooms with private terraces, open-air spaces and special bathrooms. The first floor houses a conference room that connects directly to the internal garden.
The building originally belonged to the palace complex of Count Béla Széchenyi, son of István Széchenyi. Construction between 1871 and 1873 was directed by renowned architect Miklós Ybl.
