Development companies Penta Real Estate, Engine Prague Development (EPD), and the investment fund RSJ Investments Sicav are jointly acquiring K1 Investment and Argo Alpha. The transaction is under review by the Czech Competition Authority (ÚOHS), which announced the case on its website, E15.cz reports.
According to the authority, the proposed merger primarily concerns the rental, management and development of real estate. The deal is being assessed under a simplified procedure, with a decision expected within 20 days.
Penta Real Estate is the property division of investment group Penta. RSJ Investments Sicav is an investment fund controlled by Libor Winkler, active in several sectors, including real estate development. EPD was established last year by Radek Pokorný of BPD Group and is co-owned by Pokorný and Miloslav Ježek, who also jointly own K1 Investment and Argo Alpha.
Neither K1 nor Argo Alpha were previously part of EPD’s structure, according to company filings.
