Romanian developer Iulius has successfully secured LEED Operations and Maintenance Platinum certification for five of its retail and office projects across four Romanian cities.

The certification process was coordinated by the ESG Strategic Advisory team at Colliers Romania.

Thus, the projects have been upgraded from their previous Gold and Silver certifications.

The updated certification covers Iulius Mall Suceava, Iulius Mall and Business Centre Cluj, Iulius Mall Iași, the UBC 2 office building within Iulius Town Timișoara, and the UBC 5 office building in the Palas Iași complex.

Roxana Isopescu, Director | ESG Strategic Advisory at Colliers, said: “These certifications confirm the sustained efforts in achieving energy efficiency, responsible use of natural resources, and the promotion of sustainable transport options. The focus on creating healthy, comfortable indoor environments, through air quality monitoring and feedback from building occupants, highlights our shared ongoing dedication to the well-being of those who use these spaces daily.”

Dan-Adrian Chelaru, Group Sustainability Officer at Iulius, added: "This milestone is a concrete result of our commitment to integrating sustainability throughout the entire lifecycle of our assets. It reaffirms our dedication to responsible urban development, creating real value for both communities and the environment."

The company's portfolio includes major urban regeneration projects like Palas Iași and Iulius Town Timișoara, the Iulius Mall network, and 15 Class A office buildings across Romania.
