Mogotel Hotel Group has opened the first Mövenpick-branded hotel in Budapest, marking a significant expansion in the Hungarian capital.

The newly launched Mövenpick Hotel Budapest Centre is a luxurious six-story Art Nouveau hotel located in the heart of the city.

Previously, Mogotel managed a Novotel hotel at the same location, which underwent extensive renovations.

The rebranding to Mövenpick Hotel Budapest Centre was completed in April 2025. The hotel is situated in the historic Palace Hotel building, originally designed in 1911 by renowned architects Marcell Komor and Dezső Jakab.

“Restoring this historic building and breathing new life into it has been an exciting and rewarding process. We are delighted to welcome guests to a space where historical heritage, modern comfort, and a fresh brand identity are harmoniously combined,” said Jelena Stirna, CEO of Mogotel Hotel Group.

Vadim Muhin, Chairperson of the Council at Mogotel Hotel Group, added: “The opening of this hotel not only expands our presence in Central Europe but also strengthens our position in the premium hospitality segment in Budapest – one of the region’s most important cultural and business hubs.”

The hotel features 227 renovated standard and Deluxe rooms, combining elegance with modern design and Budapest's unique cultural charm. It also offers seven fully equipped conference rooms with a capacity to host up to 300 participants.
