CarmOlimp Group has acquired the Victory Hotel in Vama Veche resort, a year after opening a brewery on the hotel's ground floor.

The group plans to renovate the rooms and improve service quality next year, while also rebranding the hotel as Plaja33.

The project features 28 double/twin rooms, one family room, and two apartments, according to tourism board listings.

Valentin Șoneriu, General Director at CarmOlimp, said: "At the moment, we have a major tourism deficit of approximately €5 billion. Without a national tourism promotion strategy, we are forced to do everything we can to keep Romanians in the country."

The group aims to revive the trend of longer stays on the Romanian coast. The company has observed that in recent years that Romanians have been spending only two to three nights in the country for weekend getaways, while opting for longer holidays abroad. The company believes it would be beneficial to gradually return to week-long holidays by the sea and intends to encourage tourism throughout the week.

CarmOlimp owns the largest integrated cooked food factory and is the main supplier of fresh, non-frozen cooked dishes for the Romanian Horeca industry.
