The most popular cryptocurrency in the world is one of the eligible payment options for a luxurious penthouse in Bucharest, in the latest venture of real estate consultancies in the digital field.
Romania Sotheby’s International Realty says that Bitcoin can be used to pay for an expensive property located in the premium area of Dorobanți, in central Bucharest. The property in pop-art style has been listed for €1.75 million. It has four rooms and a built area of 215 sqm. At current prices, the luxury home can be bought for around 49 Bitcoins.
In the US, the agency has accepted Bitcoin-based purchases of real estate since 2017.
Earlier this year, art auction house Sotheby’s has announced that it would accept for the first time the acquisition of physical artwork via cryptocurrencies.
