Hospitality group Accor will open this autumn Mercure Sofia, the first hotel under the midscale brand in Bulgaria. The project will be operated under a franchise agreement with Festa Hotels.

The hotel will be located in Manastirski Livadi, with access to various landmarks and attractions in the city. It will include 111 rooms, alongside two restaurants, a wellness and fitness centre and event spaces.

“The addition of Mercure Sofia marks a significant step in increasing our footprint in the Balkans, a region with strong potential for further growth,” said Frank Reul, Vice President of Development for Accor’s Premium, Midscale & Economy brands in Eastern Europe, Balkans, Italy & Greece.

Mercure Sofia’s location provides quick access to the city centre through Bulgaria Boulevard and sits at the foot of the pristine Vitosha mountain with access to its national park, ski slopes, hiking and climbing routes, and other tourist attractions

Globally, Accor is present in 5,600 properties spread across more than 110 countries.
